Important Information Regarding Online Surplus Auctions in New Jersey
The State of New Jersey’s Division of Local Government Services encourages State government agencies and/or schools to auction surplus and real property online.
As of Local Finance Notice 2019-15 (November 2019), the previous state’s online auction pilot program is no longer valid. Based on bid thresholds, you must now enter into a contract with an auction provider. This requires you to receive competitive bids or conduct a request for proposal to select an online auction provider.
Municibid is the only state contracted online auction provider for the State. Government agencies and schools are able to leverage the benefits provided to the State by piggybacking off the State Contract.
